To follow up their last hit “I Wish Farranree Had A Beach” which got national exposure on 2fm, Today FM and Red FM, the kids from Scoil Iosagáin have made another anthem… This time for Christmas!

Written and recorded over 4 1-hour sessions at GMC’s weekly workshop in the school, each of the 4th class kids lays their own humour, local slang and charisma into their rap on the topic of “Santa and Christmas”.

Let’s make the 4th Class kids’ rap track the new Irish Christmas anthem by downloading it here on iTunes:

Santa Anthem Rap Lyrics

Phone Call 1

Ho ho ho, this is the Santa Line,
We are currently experiencing high call volumes,

please hold while we try to connect you

Awh no, I’ve been waiting for ages now like,
All I want to do is return this playstation,
Santy gave me a wonky one last year

Verse 1

One, Two, three to the four,

My chimney’s blocked so Santa’s at the door.

White beard and a hairy chest,

Santa’s cool boy, he’s never stressed.

Ya, it’s snowin’ and the toys are flowin’

Ice on my nose and the wind is blowin’

There’s snowflakes in my cornflakes

And they’re makin’ it soggy like a milkshake.

Merry Christmas – Ho Ho Ho,

Cabbage for your dinner – no, no no!

Jingle, jingle pop all the balloons

The kids are running like loony tunes!

I’m frozen but my raps are flowin’

The lake is ice, so I won’t be rowin’

I hope I get a mike off my Aunty

‘Cause I’m a better wrapper than Santy!

Chorus

Who’s the fella with the sack on his back, that’s bulky

Is that a sleigh or a sulky

What you doin’ there parked on my roof,

Santa’s that you in the bright red suit?

Jingle bells bells,

Jingle bells,

Bells jingle bells

x 2

Verse 2

Get your head noddin’ batman and robin,

At Christmas, you know they do nothin’,

Chillin’ in the batcave waiting for Santy,

I heard they’re hidin’ somewhere in Bantry.

Who’s on the roof with the big red suit?

With the beard and the sack and the big black boots?

Writin’ on sheets, layin’ down beats,

It’s Christmas time – better kick up my feet!

I can’t sleep – it’s so excitin’,

Waitin’ for Santa on Christmas night.

All the girls think I’m their hero,

Just because I am sub zero.

I rap so cool, my raps are frozen,

Flow so cold, like a snowman’s nose man!

I make Frosty the snowman melt,

I’m so hot, I’m bad for his health!

Chorus

Who’s the fella with the sack on his back, that’s bulky

Is that a sleigh or a sulky

What you doin’ there parked on my roof,

Santa’s that you in the bright red suit?

x2

Jingle bells bells,

Jingle bells,

Bells jingle bells

x 2

Bridge

Mistletoe, snow and presents,

Everyone eatin’ loads of pheasants

Or turkeys or geese,

it’s so cold that you need a fleece!

Verse 3

I put a bet in the bookies,

That Santa would eat all my cookies,

Who’s gonna put up the decorations?

We need them for celebrations!

Snow is falling all around,

Please don’t make a sound!
Snowball fight – you’ll get a clatter,
Ice in you face boy you’ll be shattered!

Santa’s great, Santa’s the best

But no toys if you act like a pest!

Chillin’ in the snow waitin’ for our dinner,

We’ll eat too much, so we won’t get thinner

I put Santa’s cookie up the tree

And then he can make himself a cup of tea

Christmas is coming, Christmas is near

The bells are ringin’ boy, can’t you hear?

Chorus

Who’s the fella with the sack on his back, that’s bulky

Is that a sleigh or a sulky

What you doin’ there parked on my roof,

Santa’s that you in the bright red suit?

x2

Jingle bells bells,

Jingle bells,

Bells jingle bells

x 2

Bridge

Mistletoe, snow and presents,

Everyone eatin’ loads of pheasants

Or turkeys or geese,

it’s so cold that you need a fleece!

Phone Call 2
