The aim of The Kabin Studio is to be an inclusive community learning, arts & performance hub that engages young people from all backgrounds, abilities and cultures in an integrated programme of workshops to develop their confidence, identity, skills, employability and creativity through music, rap, podcasting, art, drama, writing, digital media, coding and horticulture.
These workshops are designed to give people confidence in their own creativity through writing and also to build up their technical skills in recording and production (participants will get a hands on experience of recording equipment, producing music and writing lyrics). Creating original music builds confidence, and exploring different topics for songs helps develop knowledge of music, technology and society. Most of all, these workshops engage participants in something that is highly expressive and even therapeutic.
Through using online tools such as Scratch, Canva and Soundtrap and equipment such as MakeyMakey, 3D Printing and Virtual Reality. The Kabin, partnered with Link Point Foróige, combines music with multimedia and coding with interactive technology to bring creatively exciting workshops every week
MGCC provides a studio space where GMC Beats can deliver workshops and record young people from RAPID areas of Cork city.
