Snapshot of my workshops on RTÉ’s show Elev8

It was a very proud moment watching and being apart of this short performance by some of the talented young people who have been at my workshops.

In the video you’ll see:
Dean O’Neill beatboxing (Dean has been part of the Break it Down Initiative workshops run by Mayfield Arts Centre, performed in the commissioned music video “Music Generation” and is now an assistant at some of my workshops. Dean lives and breathes music and hopes to make a career out of it. He is currently studying music production)

Jamie Condron singing & rapping
(I first met Jamie when I started doing workshops in Scoil Íosagáin primary school when he was a 6th class student, since then he’s been regularly coming to the rap workshops in Gurranabraher Arts Project developing his skills both in rapping and as a singer)

Darragh Kavanagh Cullen aka DKC
(Darragh has taken part in my rap workshops funded by Poetry Ireland at his school in St. James’ CBS Dublin. His ability to write and perform blew me away at such a young age – he’s only 14! He records his own tracks at his youth club and already has made a music video about Homelessness)

Gavin Bracken
(Gavin is also a member of the rap group at Gurranabraher Arts Project and shows true dedication to writing and making music. He has developed his ability and style hugely over the last two years and should have an EP released very soon.)

Well done to everyone involved and enjoy the video:
